The Hills Rugby Club has been active for fifty years and is located in the heart of the Hills Shire. The club is affiliated with Parramatta District Junior Rugby (Mini's U6 to U9) and Sydney Junior Rugby Union (Juniors U10 - U17). The Junior teams play their matches in the Metropolitan Western Zone comprising teams in each age groups from Eastwood, Penrith, Parramatta and West Harbour districts. The 2009 season promises to be an outstanding one with a number of events planned to celebrate 50 years of Rugby in The Hills. The Seniors (Subbies) will be fielding the full complement of teams (5) and the Golden Oldies aka "Widowmakers" are scheduled to make a few appearances this season too.

The Annual U9 King of the Hills was held on 31st May. We hosted 12 teams from across Sydney in very muddy (perfect for U9s) conditions.

All teams contested strongly through the pool rounds with the final being won by Bays (Randwick) over Harbord Harlequins 7 - 5. Congratulations to the Bays Rugby Club - the 2009 King of the Hills.

 

The Hills Rugby Club’s 50th Anniversary Dinner

This is for a 3 course meal with beer, wine and soft drinks and a 
commemorative gift for each guest.

Speaker: Nick Farr-Jones

Nick Farr-Jones is best known for his captaincy that led the 
Wallabies to become world champions in 1991. His exceptional 
leadership and masterful play-making ability led him to be 
hailed "the best half back in the world". Very much an 
ambassador for Rugby Union, Nick was appointed a member of 
the General Division of the Order of Australia for his 
contribution to the game and was the 13th inductee into 
the Wallabies Hall of Fame.

When: Registrations can be done on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6 & 7pm at Yattenden Oval.

Cost: $140 (incl. club photos & 50th Year club polo). Discounts offered for two or more players.

2008 players should have received their rego papers in the mail. Please check, sign and return with payment by mail or in person on Tuesday or Thursday.

New players may download an ARU Rego form from the bottom of the page or pick one up from the Clubhouse. A copy of proof of age is also required. A digital photo will be taken at the time of registration.

Coaching
